One of the most common questions clients ask before their shoot is: “What poses will we do?” And the answer is simple: we’ll do the ones that make you feel confident, comfortable, and damn beautiful.
In this post, I’ll walk you through five of my go-to boudoir pose ideas—all taken from a recent studio session—that flatter every body type and work in almost any space. These poses aren’t just photogenic—they’re designed to help you relax, connect with your body, and feel totally yourself.
This pose is a client favorite for a reason. With your back arched at the edge of the bed, one leg stretched and one bent, and your arm extended gracefully to the floor, this pose creates natural curves and elongation. It’s feminine, soft, and effortlessly sultry. Bonus: it requires zero modeling experience—it’s all about letting your body sink into the moment.
Boudoir pose idea tip: Let your head tilt back and close your eyes for a dreamy, cinematic feel.
This confident, grounded pose is all about showing strength and softness at the same time. Kneeling in the center of the bed while gently playing with your lingerie or hair adds movement and storytelling to your session. The natural light from the window creates stunning highlights on your skin, and it allows your personality to shine through.
It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it’s all you.
Leaning gently against the wall or window, hands above your head, creates length through the torso and opens up the posture beautifully. It’s one of those boudoir pose ideas that feels strong and vulnerable at the same time—perfect for that in-between moment where you’re just breathing and being.
This one looks especially striking in black-and-white edits.
Whether you’re lying down on your side or curled up comfortably, a soft couch lets your body relax into a pose that’s natural and elegant. Rest your head on your hand and let your gaze wander—you don’t have to be looking at the camera to tell a powerful story.
Bonus points if we’re working with rich textures like velvet, lace, or moody shadows.
I always love to end every boudoir session with what I call the “only the sheet” look. It’s just you and a cozy, soft blanket or sheet—draped around your body in a way that’s sensual, simple, and empowering. It’s not about showing skin—it’s about owning your story, just as you are.
This is where you’ll often see clients shift from “posing” to fully embodying their moment.
These poses are intentionally designed to flatter every body—regardless of shape, size, or experience in front of the camera. They focus on natural lines, soft lighting, and posing with emotion rather than stiffness.
I guide you every step of the way, making sure you’re never unsure of what to do with your hands (or your hips!). It’s all about celebrating you—authentically, artfully, and beautifully.
One of my favorite sessions was with Sophie, a mom of two who booked a boudoir shoot for herself—no special occasion, no partner in mind—just a quiet promise she’d made after turning 40: to start seeing herself again.
When she arrived, she was nervous. Her hands kept fidgeting, and she said, “I don’t know how to be sexy.” But within 15 minutes, she was laughing, arching confidently on the bed, and absolutely radiating. By the time we reached the “only the sheet” pose at the end, she was fully in her element—soft, powerful, and free.
After the session, she emailed me saying, “I can’t believe that’s me in those photos… I feel like I got a piece of myself back.”
That’s why I do this.
Whether you’re doing this for your partner or purely for yourself, boudoir photography is an incredible way to reconnect with your confidence and self-love.
And yes—you can look this good without knowing how to pose. That’s my job ❤️
Let’s plan your session. I’ll bring the playlist, the cozy throws, and all the best angles.
