Some love stories have that “meant-to-be” magic — and Joe & Kristy’s is the perfect example. When they first met, Joe says it was love at first sight. At the time, he was a truck driver, spending days and nights on the road, so they spent weeks talking before they could finally meet in person. But the moment he laid eyes on Kristy, he knew she was the one. For nearly ten years, Joe called Kristy his wife long before it was official. And now, she truly is.
When Kristy reached out about her wedding photography at Moulin Callière di Jasmin, I instantly knew this was going to be something special. We connected right away — not just over the details of her wedding, but over our shared love for lavender and the TV show Friends. That initial spark of connection set the tone for everything that followed.
Joe & Kristy had planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony on a stunning rock overlooking the river at Moulin Callière di Jasmin. It was the perfect backdrop — peaceful, romantic, and full of natural beauty. But as any couple knows, sometimes the weather has its own plans. On the morning of the wedding, the skies opened up and rain began to fall.
Rather than let it dampen their day, they embraced it. The ceremony was moved under the elegant white chapiteau, and the joy from their guests made it feel just as magical. Smiles, laughter, and excited chatter filled the space as everyone gathered to watch Joe & Kristy finally say “I do.”
After the ceremony, we decided to take advantage of the rain. I followed them outside for couple portraits, and we created some of my favorite images — romantic, rain-kissed photographs that perfectly captured their deep connection. There’s something so timeless about a couple who isn’t afraid to get a little wet for the sake of love and memories.
As night fell, the celebration turned electric. The dance floor was packed from start to finish, and the energy was contagious. Friends and family laughed, danced, and sang the night away, creating moments that Joe & Kristy will cherish forever.
After delivering their wedding gallery, Kristy sent me a message that truly touched my heart:
“Hi V! We looked at the pictures with our family, oh my goodness!!! They are incredible!!! 😍😍😍 You not only captured the most important moments of the day, you captured all the emotions, personality and soul of each person. We cannot thank you enough, thanks to you we can relive our whole experience all over again and again!! 💜💜💜”
This is exactly why I love being a wedding photographer — creating images that allow couples to relive their day over and over again, remembering not just what it looked like, but how it felt.
Joe & Kristy’s wedding at Moulin Callière di Jasmin was a beautiful reminder that love is bigger than the weather, bigger than the details, and bigger than any change in plans. It’s about connection, joy, and the people who matter most.
