Some shoots really keep you on your toes, and M and D’s maternity photoshoot in Montreal was definitely one of those! This sweet couple had been crossing their fingers for sunny, beautiful weather, but the universe had other ideas. After already dealing with rain on their engagement shoot AND wedding day (talk about bad luck!), they were determined to finally get the bright, sun-filled photos they’d been dreaming of. And it turns out, the third time really is the charm—but it didn’t come easy!
We originally scheduled their maternity photoshoot in Montreal for a day that ended up being full of stormy skies. It was almost déjà vu—rain, thunder, the whole works. Since M and D had already had bad luck with rain before, we decided to push it to a later date. We wanted to make sure they finally had the sunny, relaxed shoot they deserved.
Then came the night of the rescheduled shoot. Things weren’t looking great once again. It was supposed to rain… again! M and I were ready to cancel for a second time because, honestly, the weather wasn’t giving us much hope. But then, about an hour before we were supposed to meet, the skies suddenly cleared! It was one of those totally unexpected moments that you couldn’t plan for.
The sun peeked through the clouds, and we ended up with the perfect evening for their maternity photoshoot in Montreal. It felt like we’d been gifted a small miracle after all the weather challenges we’d faced. M showed up looking absolutely radiant in her soft, flowing dress, with her baby bump on full display. D was right by her side, beaming with excitement and so happy that we finally caught a break.
We started the session in an orchard nearby Montreal, a favorite spot of mine. The late evening sunlight was just perfect—warm and golden, casting a beautiful glow on the lush greenery all around us. M and D were laughing and enjoying the fact that after they finally had their sunny maternity shoot.
Rescheduling their maternity photoshoot in Montreal (and almost canceling it a second time!) was definitely stressful, but I’m so glad we waited for that little window of sunshine. M and D were glowing, not just from the sunlight, but from their love for each other and the excitement of becoming parents. They’ve had such a journey, from their engagement to their wedding, and now this next chapter. Every photo felt like a celebration of their story.
Looking back, this maternity photoshoot in Montreal was such a reminder that sometimes, the best moments happen when you least expect them. That last-minute weather change was exactly what M and D needed to get the sunny, beautiful photos they had been dreaming of.
If you’re planning your own maternity photoshoot in Montreal, I definitely recommend being flexible with the weather! You never know when the skies will surprise you, and sometimes waiting for that perfect moment is so worth it. Whether you end up with sunshine or something unexpected, what matters most is capturing the love and excitement of this special time in your life.
In the end, M and D’s patience paid off, and we were able to create the sun-kissed, glowing memories they had always wanted. It just goes to show that sometimes, all it takes is a little waiting (and a lot of faith in the weather!).
